Homicide detectives have opened a case after human remains are found in Taft. Kern County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded Monday afternoon to Kerto Road near Petroleum Club Road where the discovery was made. There’s no word how long the person had been there. The coroner’s office will release the name later.
