A suspect is in custody on suspicion of grand theft after allegedly using a fraudulent EBT card to withdraw money from an ATM in south Bakersfield. Norbert Karaba, 34, was arrested after authorities seized 78 cloned EBT cards and nearly $73,000 in cash during a sting operation Thursday. Karaba is facing charges including grand theft, identity theft, money laundering, and fraudulent use of a credit card. He’s being held on $1 million bail.
